Dia De Los Muertos
The Mexican American Cultural Center in Austin, TX held a seminar on Teaching Puppets/Parade Puppets/Community building that I was honored to facilitate in 2016. The staff and community at large came together to learn how to effectively use puppets in the classroom. Together we built three 8ft tall skeletons for their Day of the Dead celebration. While building, we investigated the rich history parade puppets have in activism, storytelling, and the Mexican culture.
